The client is a top ten global provider of transportation and logistics services, with a highly integrated network of people, technology and physical assets. It manages supply chains for 50,000 customers worldwide, including 69 of the Fortune 100 and operate in 30 countries, with approximately 100,000 employees.
The Logistics organisation was developing a new online global portal within its worldwide portal and whilst the focus was still the verification of UK addresses, there were also discussions regarding operations within the Iberian Peninsula (Spain and Portugal).
Having used Hopewiser’s Probe software for many years, in addition to AtlasCapture for the verification of addresses, the development team, was primarily AS/400 focussed.
The company now has access to a bigger pool of developers and engineers across Europe and India, so there was more potential to explore other possibilities. Plus, it was looking for a more cost effective method to purchase just the amount of lookups needed, with an easy to integrate solution.

Already a client and happy with the current services, they approached Hopewiser for an online AutoComplete Address Lookup solution.
Specific output labels (not the standard 1-7) were wanted and they needed assurances of support as the team involved are in India. The Indian team doing the integration didn’t have any knowledge on UK addresses so it was proving difficult for them to integrate into their systems.
Hopewiser worked closely with the company and provided API calls to fit, alongside examples to ensure the addresses were being displayed exactly as required.
Using AutoComplete REST API provided address lookup and verification using standard URL requests, plus the ability to customise label formatting and retrieve extra data. The Service presents the most relevant matches ‘as you type’.
With a deadline to adhere to, the company needed to move forward with the solution quickly, so Hopewiser made sure a suitable test was set up in a very short space of time.
Now there is a more agile solution with reduced on-site maintenance costs and effort. The service can be utilised to supply multiple departments and has the ability to access in-depth management information on each department.
This is Phase One of the project. The solution has the capability to include datasets outside the UK at a later date.
