Scottish Friendly is a leading UK mutual life and investments organisation with over 415,000 members. It has provided financial services for over 150 years and looks after assets of over £1 billion (as at 31/12/14).

In March 2010 Scottish Friendly was notified its address management provider could no longer support the installed software. To upgrade to new software would mean Scottish Friendly having to rewrite its back office systems.

At a substantial cost for a rewrite, coupled with the downtime necessary for the work and testing, the inconvenience and additional overhead made it impossible to stay with the original supplier. Scottish Friendly decided to look for a provider whose product would integrate seamlessly into its systems, provide stability and guarantee no forced upgrades in the future.

During the selection process, Hopewiser, some of whose customers have been with them for over 30 years, proved that they fully support all Scottish Friendly solutions and will continue to do so for as long as required.

At the time of installation, Scottish friendly needed around 200 users to have access to address verification software so Hopewiser suggested AtlasCapture which is their address data capture and postcode finder.

Working closely with Scottish Friendly's technical team and its enterprise system provider, the existing solution was assessed and the necessary work scoped out. As a direct replacement for the incumbent addressing solution, Hopewiser was able to quickly and seamlessly install an API with no drop-out of service. The replacement API required no retraining of staff as the look and feel of the software is a like-for-like alternative.

The solution meant Scottish Friendly did not have to spend significant money rewriting its back office systems and it now has a solution that is scalable, accurate and does not need to be updated until Scottish Friendly chooses.

Since this installation, Scottish Friendly has installed AddressServer in the Cloud on its website, which is Hopewiser's pay per click solution. Now customers are able to enter and verify their own addresses online in real time, meaning address capture is more accurate at point of contact.
