It's Now Or Never
Why you should act now to minimise the effects of the GDPR
The General Data Protection Regulations have been created to give individuals more control over their personal data. It is a substantial strengthening of existing regulations and if your organisation deals with individual data on any level, then this will have a major effect on your business.
Non-compliant companies will be liable to penalties. These include fines of up to 20 million Euros or 4% of the offending company’s annual turnover, whichever is higher.
Brexit is not an excuse; if article 50 is triggered in 2017 then the UK will still be in Europe until at least 2019. The GDPR comes into effect in May 2018.
A number of suppression files come from sources that will not be allowed after the GDPR comes into force. Some of these sources have already been deleted by our suppliers. In short, now is the time to clean up your data while you still can.
Hopewiser is here to help you comply and can guide you through the practical steps you need to take NOW to make sure that you are ready for the new regulations.
We have produced a document that contains a summary of some of the key facts, including the new rights for individuals, how it will affect your processes and some positive steps you can take now to help minimise disruption.
