Overview

This document contains information for system and network administrators relating to the use of Address Lookup, Email Validation and Payment Validation services.

Failover/Resilience Information

At Hopewiser, we take the availability of our services very seriously and we understand that our customers rely on the availability of Hopewiser’s services to provide their own services and solutions. Therefore, the Address Lookup Service architecture is designed to provide the maximum service availability possible.

Hopewiser operate servers on multiple independent sites to maximise the resilience of the services.

We operate a cloud load-balanced endpoints which uses IP anycast to provide a high level of protection.

To ensure you qualify for protection under our UK SLA you must call the hostname:

cloud.hopewiser.com

Network Access Information

You must ensure your firewalls and proxies will allow through any requests.

We use HTTPS on port 443 for the Hopewiser services. GET, POST and PUT requests should all be permitted by any proxies.

The IP address of cloud.hopewiser.com is 216.59.56.111

Connection Security

Hopewiser supports encrypted connections for API requests. Access via the “cloud.hopewiser.com” ednpoint is secured using TLSv1.2, and does not support any earlier encryption types (i.e. SSLv2 / SSLv3 / TLSv1.0 / TLSv1.1) from near the end of October 2023.

If you require a connection using deprecated TLS protocols such as TLSv1.0 or TLSv1.1, then you should use “legacy-cloud.hopewiser.com” rather than “cloud.hopewiser.com” from early September 2023.
